Journal 19 - Plot Development


Answer each of the following with a brief paragraph

1.    Exposition: What setting and background is necessary to drive this story?

2.    Rising Action: what actions will lead my characters into action, begin questioning, what will be going through their mind


3.    Conflict: What conflict are my characters trying to resolve or discover? why is this important?

4.    Climax: What is the most crucial turning point or decision in the story?


5.    Falling Action / resolution: what goes through the characters minds after the climactic decision, what conversation or action follows this? what do they realize?

6.    Theme: what idea about human behavior should your readers have after reading your story?
